Well, it had to happen. There I was, minding my own business getting ready to make the $45,000 transfer to Davis and suddenly whilst I'm speaking to him on the phone, tragedy happens: THE DEATH OF MAX N. PADDY - 748k MP3 Can things get any worse for Davis? They certainly can't get any worse for Max!
Davis tried to call me back, but of course I can't answer the phone because I'm dead. He contacts Ed Shanks by telephone and tells him he is worried and heard shots. He's very confused and is not sure what is going on. A. Skinner thinks Davis is genuinely worried that he may be dragged into a murder investigation! Time to put together a newspaper item about my murder!
I mock up a fake newspaper article describing Max N. Paddy's death and get Ed Shanks to send it to Davis. Note the "419" reference on the watch and mobile phone. From: Ed Shanks (A. Skinner) Davis, What on earth have we got ourselves into? I suggest you call Mr. Kimble and notify the police. Respond ASAP.
Later the same evening I received a message from A. Skinner to tell me that Davis had telephoned him in a state of agitation. Apparently he was worried about Max. Was unsure what was going on but he was sure he heard gunshots! Davis later claims to be spending too much money on telephone calls, but A,. Skinner suspect he may be a little worried about being dragged into a real murder investigation!
Davis has had time to think about things, and is now very suspicious that the wool is being pulled over his eyes (I can't think why!). He send an email to both myself and Ed Shanks: From: Matins Davis Gentlemen , You think I pick Money on the Floor ? I called you and told to hold while talking to somebody, it is time I close the you and Your Shanks issue, since you have refused to pick call again. Mr. Shanks if this is how you and Max does your business, then I am sorry you need a change, Well I am tried of you tricks and lies. Please Mr. Shanks Do you not email me again since you are not capable take care of this business, Davis Oh dear - Davis appears to be upset!
As I can't reply to Davis myself (I am dead), Ed Shanks gets back to him: From: Ed Shanks (A. Skinner) Dear Davis,
A. Skinner contacts me to tell me Davis calls him on the phone and admits to also hearing sirens during my shooting! He complains that this deal (otherwise know as "his scam") has been going on for many many months now and all he has for his trouble is telephone bills (shame!). He tells A. Skinner he won't be able to sleep tonight.
The next day Davis wakes up extremely suspicious, and is adamant he has been wronged (what drugs are these guys on?!). Time for him to issue us with some threats. From: Matins Davis Shanks, Looks like Davis is starting to go a bit mental!
Ed Shanks writes back to say he needs information on Peter Jones before he will give out any further Max info as he suspects Peter Jones murdered Max as revenge! Shanks also tells Davis that he has no more money to give and that his church is his only support now.

Now, we decided to give Davis the telephone number of the morgue where Max's body is presently being kept, so that Davis could have a chat with the people there and get some kind of confirmation that Max is indeed dead. Of course, we didn't give him the number of a real morgue, instead we gave him the contact number of a fellow scambaiter who will be taking on the role of morgue attendant. Ed Shanks replies to tell Davis there is no money for him. Perhaps it would be a good idea for Davis to call Max's boss (played by Shiver Metimbers) who is looking after all the funeral arrangements and is the executor of Max's will: From: Ed Shanks (A. No greenbacks, no Euros, no cash, no USD On a happier note, I had a call last night from Mr. Bunchov Schitz who is the Director of Max's company which as you know is Dark Side Communications. Mr. Shitz is the person who will attempt to find a replacement for Max and is also the executor of his Will. He is now making arrangements for Max's funeral. Sadly, I won't be able to attend. However, the good news is that I may be inheriting some cash from Max. He and I were very close until the end when he was shot (probably by Peter Jones). I told Mr. Shitz about you, but did not mention all the threats you are making. You can tell him if you want. I'm sure that Max's company does not need all the negative publicity you have in store for them. UPDATE OCTOBER 21ST 2005 Sadly I have to report that my fun and frolics is well and truly over with Mr. Davis. After the email to Davis above he quickly twigged that he had been taken for a very long ride and many many insults ensued. Of course, we reciprocated with some threats of ours own, and we both had a war of words for a few weeks afterwards, 99% of which is unrepeatable in polite society! Davis's threats of getting the FBI involved, and even worse, Larry King never materialised. I've had a few of Davis's email accounts shut down and have been generally trying to be a pain in his ass, but now instead of issuing me with threats he has taken to ignoring me! I might just get back in touch with him as another possible victim sometime in the near future, but for now our journey has come to and abrupt end.
