Myself and the staff at 419eater.com would like to apologise to all our members and visitors for the recent downtime of the site and the user forums. Unfortunately this is due to circumstances beyond our control.

As you may or may not know this site (and some other anti-scam sites) have been targeted in a world-wide DoS (Denial of Service) attack. We won't bore you with the technical details, suffice to say that it was nasty enough to bring us down for many days, and is still causing us some trouble!

The attack is still happening as I write, however we have implemented some measures which we hope will help to get most of the site functioning normally. The main site (the one you;re looking at right now) are working normally, however our forums are still under severe attack as I write.

Once the site is fully operational we will give out more details about these attacks. Suffice to say, we must be having some effect on these criminals' activities because they are putting a lot of effort and money into trying to keep our sites down.

If any of the attackers are reading this, then let me make it quite clear to you that we stop at approximately the same time that Hell freezes over, or your activities have been erased forever, whichever come first.

Whilst these attacks are still in progress on the main site, we are still continuing our work on various backup sites, and will continue to do so for as long as it takes.

We would like to thank all our members for their patience and understanding at this time, and especially thanks to the many hundreds of people who have contacted us with their support. Hopefully we will be back to normal shortly.
